Scientists are warning the public not to eat fish caught near algae blooms because some species could have chemicals linked to Alzheimer’s and Lou Gehrig's disease.

Multiple species of fish have been found with high levels of a neurotoxin known as BMAA.

Two of the nation's leading scientists working on the link between toxic algae and neurological diseases said eating fish that have been swimming near algae bloom is simply too great a health risk.
