MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol said a 37-year-old Port St. Lucie man was killed on Interstate 95 northbound in Martin County early Thursday morning.
The crash was reported around 2:15 a.m., blocking two lanes of traffic.
FHP said Elysamuel A. Martinez was driving a 2004 Honda Element north on I-95 near mile marker 95 and Hobe Sound.
Martinez drove off the road onto the grass shoulder, rotating clockwise down a grass slope and then struck a group of trees.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Martin County Fire Rescue personnel.
FHP said the cause of the wreck is under investigation.
