PALM CITY, Fla. — A father is in stable condition after he was shot multiple times Saturday morning by his adult son in Palm City, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened just before 5:30 a.m. at a home on SW Peach Palm Lane in the gated community of Canopy Creek.
Investigators said the 46-year-old victim called 911 and said his 23-year-old son, who lives at the home, had shot him.
When deputies arrived, the son was still inside.
The father was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The sheriff's office said the son was taken into custody and is being interviewed by detectives.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
Authorities have not released the names of the father or son.
