Because of possible rabies exposure, the Florida Department of Health in Martin County is trying to find the person who left a dog at the Humane Society outdoor kennel in Palm City on Thursday, June 23.

A week later the dog became aggressive and began foaming at the mouth. The animal was later euthanized.

Samples were sent for testing but the results were inconclusive. As a result, the Health Department wants anyone who had contact with the dog to come forward.

The dog was a 1 to 2-year-old, un-spayed female, dark gray pit bull.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the Florida Department of Health at 772-221-4090.
