A mother-daughter team in Martin County will ring in the new year in jail. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations detectives got a special surprise on Thursday morning when they showed up to a home on SE Evergreen Avenue in Golden Gate and found two women attempting to flush crack cocaine down a toilet.
The women were identified as 55-year-old Ann Gunsolos and her daughter, 35-year-old Renee Decker.
“The water flow wasn’t strong enough… but they tried anyway,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
During the bust, a family friend, 35-year-old Ivan Santiago, stopped by, possessing cocaine without realizing narcotics officers were on scene and inside the home. Officers thanked Santiago for coming in, the sheriff’s office said in the post, then arrested him for possession of cocaine.
The bust follows an ongoing investigation into drug activity at the residence.
The trio were all taken to the Martin County Jail where they will spend New Year’s Eve.
