MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. -- Martin County Commissioners voted to go ahead with a proposed settlement with Virgin Trains USA, formerly Brightline.
On Saturday the commission voted 4-1 to move ahead with the agreement which guarantees a station in the Treasure Coast and include safety upgrades at its crossings.
The agreement was thrown into question earlier this week when Indian River County Commissioners voted to reject the offer.
Saturday's meeting saw a much higher turnout than a meeting earlier in the week.
Many people were against the settlement and spoke out at the meeting.
Saturday's decision means Indian River County will stand alone during a federal court hearing on Tuesday.
