A Treasure Coast man faces an attempted murder charge after crashing through glass doors and attacking a man who was taking a shower last month, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said 56-year-old William Walton got into an argument with a resident employee at the Indiantown Marina.
The employee claims Walton was yelling and using profanities and so he asked him to lower his voice.
The employee then went to the park restroom to take a shower.
A short time later, Walton broke through the glass doors with a machete and began slashing the employee, according to the sheriff’s office.
Walton’s wife saw it happen and grabbed the weapon, officials said. Walton then left in his truck.
The victim suffered a deep cut on his forearm and was also covered with glass shards from the shattered shower door, investigators said. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Walton taken into custody Sunday by Martin County detectives working for the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
He was jailed on $100,000 bond.
