It's quite a common sight to see see algae these days.
The state is working to find vendors to clean it all up as part of the 7-county State of Emergency.
"What we're interested in is clean water and we're interested about this very problem," said Captain Dyana Voss with Marine Cleanup Initiative Inc.
She thinks she has a good solution - a new type of technology. It's a robot that collects the algae and even puts oxygen back into the water," said Voss.
"Work on all the algae," said Voss pointing to all the algae at Sunset Estates Marina.
It's called a Algae Remediation Robot Project. A pontoon watercraft powered by solar and wind.
It can convert algae into synthetic fuel.
"Algae is a renewable source," said Voss.
Dozens of vendors are applying to help clean up all the algae blooms throughout the state.
Dyana see's this robot as a big help.
"They'll be part of our lives in order to keep our waters," said Voss.
