Five years ago veterans in Indiantown lost everything when a tornado hit their VFW Post. Now, they are one step closer to rebuilding.

A BBQ was held where the VFW once stood to thank those for their donations towards rebuilding their Post Saturday.

The Indiantown Roundup Committee was able to present the Veteran's Association with almost $3,000 from a recent fundraising event.

Veterans say seeing the support of the community is beyond words.

"It's incredible," said Mo Dumont, Veteran's Association President. "We appreciate the people of Indiantown, and they appreciate us."

The EF-0 Tornado hit the VFW Post on Morgan Street in October 2011, and they have been without a facility ever since.

"It's a small gathering, but the community keeps getting bigger and bigger."
