STUART, Fla. - Florida Senate President Joe Negron is one of the most powerful politicians in Florida. But has he had enough of Tallahassee?
Negron told NewsChannel 5 that he won't run for higher office in 2018, but he isn't sure about resigning before his Senate term ends in 2020.
"I've always believed in a Senate legislature, a citizen legislature that you're not there permanently that you serve and then get back in the private sector so I'll take a few weeks and think about it and make up my mind," said Negron.
Senator Negron just finished getting a comprehensive gun and school safety package through the Senate and onto Governor Scott, where it was signed into law.
