MCSO: No (human) injuries after turkey hits car

Posted

A motorist was fortunate to remain uninjured after a turkey smashed through his vehicle's windshield while driving through Martin County on the Florida Turnpike early Saturday morning.

Martin County Firefighters praised the driver for being able to control his vehicle after the wild turkey somehow popped up and impacted his windshield as he and his elderly mother were traveling on the turnpike.

The impact forced the bird between the driver and passenger into the back seat.

Despite a destroyed windshield, firefighters say the driver was able to stop the vehicle without crashing or rolling it.

Both the driver and his mother (riding in the passenger seat) were uninjured. The turkey was killed.
