The Martin County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a suspicious van they say followed a child Monday evening.
The incident happened in the area of SW 37th Street in old Palm City.
Officials say a white male between 40 and 50-years old with "chubby face" stopped a young boy asking him for directions. When the boy did not respond, the man followed him up the street.
The vehicle is described as a black minivan, possibly a Chevy Astro, with small green accents.
Deputies have heightened patrols in the area and are asking anyone with information to call 911.
