UPDATE: The child struck and killed by a vehicle in Martin County Friday was identified as Ashten Dowling of Indiantown.
Officials say the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Ladi Hernandez-Perez, backed out of a driveway, striking the child.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
A GoFundMepage was created to help Ashten's family pay for funeral costs.

A child struck by a pickup truck in Martin County Friday afternoon has died, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
It happened near SW Kanner Highway and Groveside Drive.
The child, who was believed to be 5-years-old, was transported to Martin Memorial South and later declared deceased.
