The Martin County Sheriff's Office says a Pompano Beach man high on flakka was captured in Martin County Monday, after committing a series of violent assaults.
Officials say 20-year-old Tyler Joseph was driving a black Honda at speeds of more than 100 mph on Interstate 95 in Martin County.
Martin County deputies received a warning from the Coconut Creek Police Department detailing Tyler's violent aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Deputy Emanuel Perez, with the the Martin County Sheriff's Office, spotted a car matching the suspect's car around 3:30 a.m. near the Kenner Highway exit. According to the deputy, a maneuver had to be performed on the Honda in order to force the car slow down.
Authorities say the fleeing suspect got out of the car, put his hands behind his back, dropped to the ground and apologized to Deputy Perez for his behavior, blaming flakka for his unlawful decision.
Three 'baggies' containing flakka were found inside the Honda, according to investigators.
The suspect was arrested and transported to a local hospital after complaining of chest pains. He was later transported to the Martin County Jail and charged with fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended driver's license with knowledge, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, drug possession, leaving the scene of a crash with damage, and fleeing and eluding.
His bond is $115,000.00, officials say.
