The samples were taken by FDEP staff along the St. Lucie River May 19 at the Riverwatch Marina and near the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge.

According to a news release from FDEP Deputy Press Secretary Dee Ann Miller, the results showed "very low toxins" in the blue-green algae sample taken at the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, but no toxins in the sample taken at Riverwatch Marina.

The DEP said it will continue to monitor the algae blooms.
