VERO BEACH, Fla. -- A former mayor of Vero Beach was killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Sabin Abell Jr. was driving on 20th Street when his car crashed in the parking lot of Vero Beach Magazine.
Police believe a pre-existing medical condition may have caused the crash.
Abell's wife, who was also in the car, was taken to the hospital.
