Two cities in Indian River County are moving ahead with a solicitation ban at street intersections.
On Tuesday, leaders in Vero Beach enacted a city wide ban effective immediately.
The rule prohibits any action that distracts drivers at any intersection.
In Sebastian, leaders are looking at a proposal that would stop the solicitation of money at some of the city's busiest intersections.
Sebastian's proposed ban on soliciting money alongside roadways would apply to the following intersections:
- Jackson Street and U.S. 1
- Main Street and U.S. 1
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512 W) and U.S. 1
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512 E) and U.S. 1
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512) and Delaware Avenue
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512) and Easy Street
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512) and Fleming Street
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512) and Barber Street
- Sebastian Boulevard (CR 512) and Roseland Road
- Barber Street and U.S. 1
