VERO BEACH, Fla. — 61 straight wins!

The Vero Beach Fighting Indians have set the new state record for consecutive regular season victories. Vero Beach High School went on the road Friday night to defeat Fort Pierce Central 28-3.

Vero Beach's record-setting win bests the previous mark set by Lakeland High School in the 1990s.

The Fighting Indians reached 60 wins last Friday night with an impressive victory over defending 3A state champions Chaminade-Madonna from Broward County.
