Indian River County deputies investigated a suspicious letter Tuesday that reportedly caused a school district employee to feel ill.
Initial reports indicate the employee felt ill after opening the letter at the School District of Indian RiverCounty's office.
According to Indian River Fire, no chemicals were found in preliminary tests.
Sources told WPTV the letter, which likely contained a threat, was opened Tuesday morning, but Hazmat crews were not called to the scene until the evening to test the substance.
Indian River County detectives were at the building Thursday evening to begin their investigation.
The sheriff's office expects to release more information Wednesday.
