7 suspects arrested, stolen cars and firearms recovered in Indian River County

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- Seven people were arrested Wednesday in Indian River County after deputies received a call reporting two stolen vehicles with firearms inside.

On Wednesday, November 21, 2018, a detective noticed two vehicles that matched the description of the stolen vehicles that were reported.

The detective attempted to stop them, but both vehicles fled.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says eventually seven subjects bailed out and ran from both vehicles.

With assistance from patrol deputies, K9 deputies and aviation deputies, all seven subject were successfully apprehended.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned that one of the subjects had potentially discarded a firearm while he was running.

The discarded firearm was located in the grass during a search of the area by a deputy and his K9 partner.

Suspects are facing various charges, including: Grand theft auto, felony flee/elude, no valid driver license, discharging firearm in public, possession firearm by delinquent, grand theft firearm, resisting arrest without violence.
