WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Kelly Shoaf and Christina Lambert wanted two more years. It looks like they'll get it.

The West Palm Beach commissioners were leading challengers Martina Tate-Walker and Stephen Sylvester to secure their respective seats Tuesday night.

Shoaf and Lambert were both elected to office in 2018.

Tate-Walker unsuccessfully ran against Shoaf two years ago.

Lambert was being challenged by Sylvester, a physical therapist and professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

"I am thankful for the trust and faith the voters put in me to continue serving our community as city commissioner," Lambert said in a statement. "I appreciate that people took time to vote and participate in this election. We have big issues facing our city and I am looking forward to getting back to work for our residents. It's time to put politics aside and come together as a community."

Shoaf thanked West Palm Beach residents on Facebook "for trusting me to be your commissioner for another two years."
