Victims' Rights Week begins

LAKE PARK, Fla.- This week people across our area will take time to remember victims of crime.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week kicks off today.

The theme is “Serving Victims, Building Trust, Restoring Hope.”

The observance will begin with poetry and music from survivors at the Brewhouse Gallery, 720 Park Avenue, Lake Park from 4 to 6 p.m.

The week is about reflection, prevention and looking ahead at ways to help victims rebuild their lives.

Palm Beach County Victims Services will be hosting a series of events activities and workshops. Those include, a movie screening about sex trafficking and a ceremony at Mounts Botanical Gardens in West Palm Beach; as well as a Victims’ Walk on Saturday at Palm Beach Shores Community Center from 8 to 11 a.m.
