A judge has set a trial date for Jorge Barahona on the attempted murder of his adopted son.
His truck was found off I-95 in West Palm Beach in 2011. His son had been doused with acid and was having seizures. Barahona's daughter Nubia was later discovered dead in the back of the truck.
Barahona faces a separate trial in connection with her death.
The trial date in the attempted murder case is set for July 25.
Attorneys will meet twice before the trial, once in April for a final status check and then on July 15 for a pre-trial conference.
The prosecution anticipates the trial could last three weeks.
Attorneys say they have a few motions to file before they go to trial.
