A 2-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday, according to West Palm Beach Police.
The incident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 600-block of 59th Street.
According to officials, the driver of the vehicle, a newer model Jeep, was unaware that he drove over the child after providing transportation to the child's father to the home.
The driver drove away, and once he received a phone call from the child's father, drove to the nearest police station, which was the Riviera Beach Police Department.
The accident remains under investigation. Police say a determination on charges, if any, will be made once the investigation is complete.
