A Boynton Beach woman is facing 11 felony charges stemming from a burglary in Greenacres that lead police on a high-speed chase.

Officials say 23-year-old Malyra Perez was caught with a large amount of drugs and weapons.

Perez was denied bond Friday, on charges that included armed burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and heroin trafficking.

According to an arrest report, Perez broke into an apartment at the Poinciana complex on December 4 at around 10 p.m. and held the two residents at gunpoint, demanding they sell her their prescription pain pills.

Both victims told police they knew Perez for several years and have seen her in a regular basis.

The victims told police they did not call 911 at the time of the incident for fear of retaliation.

Deputies located Perez on December 7, shortly before 3 p.m. on Military Trail in suburban West Palm Beach. Perez was entering a tan colored Nissan Altima parked in front of the 'Relax with Us business,' said the report.

Police pursued Perez on a high-speed chase over 100 mph. She made a stop on Military Trail, north of Southern Boulevard, after picking up a passenger, but failed to listen to commands and fled the traffic stop at a high-speed rate, said the report.

According to the arrest report, Perez parked her vehicle on Pine Abby Drive S, following the high-speed chase. She then threw an unknown object into the lake, hid her tan bag under a parked car and tried to hide.

Perez was taken into custody without incident. A large amount of drugs and weapons were found inside her backpack.

Perez has a long criminal history in Palm Beach County, with 10 prior drug-related arrests.
