Several groups of students from across South Florida and across the country are making their way to Washington D.C. take part in the national March for our Lives.
One of those groups is about 30 students from Palm Beach Lakes High School in West Palm Beach.
The march is for stricter gun laws on the heals of the Valentine’s Day shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
“It’s very devastating, but then again it happens in our own community with gun violence,” said one senior on in the group.
The trip was sponsored by English teacher Danni Apter’s church. “Teaching here at Palm Beach Lakes where a lot of kids don’t have the means to do something like this, we wanted to make sure that every kid who wanted to voice their opinion had the ability to do so.”
The group will drive through the night. The students, though, said they won’t rest until they see change.
