Students at a Palm Beach County elementary school have a new place to get clean, dry clothes without leaving the hallways of their school. It’s all thanks to the community.
Organizers cut the ribbon Thursday on the Kids Community Closet at Pleasant City Elementary School in West Palm Beach.
Students, who need a change of clothes for the day, outgrow their own or just need some help can come get fresh new shirts, pants and even underwear in their own school.
School leaders say with 98 percent of students getting free and reduced lunch they are very thankful for these donations.
The closet actually opened at the beginning of the school year and 40 students have already taken advantage of it.
The National Council of Jewish Women now operates 12 community closets in Palm Beach County Schools.
