Reports of an unknown odor on board plane arriving at PBIA prompts emergency call

A spokesperson for the FAA confirmed the pilot on board American Airlines 838 reported an odor in the cockpit and declared an emergency.

A spokesperson with Palm Beach International Airport confirmed the situation prompted an Alert 2 emergency call to the PBIA tower.

The plane, which was arriving from Philadelphia International Airport, landed safely at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

There were no injuries on board.

The FAA will investigate the incident.
