U.S. Rep. Brian Mast of Palm City wants to speed up the opening of a congressional offices inside Veterans Affairs hospitals.
It took more than a year to open an office inside the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.
The local Republican has now introduced a bill requiring the VA to provide space for lawmakers inside hospitals.
"Veterans, when they're having issues with pensions, or claims, or their doctors, or anything they want to see their representative about, they can go right downstairs to the atrium of our West Palm Beach VA Medical Center," said Mast.
The congressman says his measure should have bipartisan support.
