PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in South Florida are frustrated that prices at the pump are going up. Many say it’s impacting upcoming travel plans and forcing them to cut other things out of their monthly budget to make up the difference. Unfortunately AAA says in the coming weeks you’re only going to pay more.

“We travel back and fourth here and then next month we will go back up north again so we will feel it that’s for sure,” said Paul Hammar.

AAA says it’s all due to fluctuating crude oil prices along with an increase demand around the globe.

“I have a gas card that I used here a prepaid gas card it helps save especially if you get a bunch at the beginning at the month then you save all that money within the end of the month,” said Christina Remian.

If you live along the Treasure Coast or in Palm Beach County you’re paying anywhere from 35 to 45 cents more at the pump this month compared to last.

“It’s like milk you need it, gas you need it, so I fill up wherever I can,” said Heather Sherod.

AAA says if there’s a silver lining it’s that the price isn’t expected to reach last year’s high of $2.97 a gallon.
