The shooting happened at around 3:30 p.m. on West Lakewood Road in southern West Palm Beach.

Officials said the incident was domestic-related and all the parties involved reside in the same home.

According to a news release, 64-year-old Narvin Green shot his wife's children, two 25-year-olds. Police said Green is not the father of the victims.

One of the victims, a man, was shot on the face and shoulder when he was sleeping in his bedroom. The other victim, a woman, was shot in the chest and hand as she slept on the living room couch.

The victims described to police they were awakened by a burning sensation to the areas injured. The female victim said she saw Green flee the home after she was shot.

They were both transported to a local hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.

According to a witness, Green had previously made verbal threats to harm the entire family.

Green was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail.
