A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday, shortly after 8:30 p.m., at 39th Street and Broadway Avenue.
Officials said the driver, a sole occupant in the vehicle, fled the scene.
An officer who witnessed the crash followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 34-year-old Sotero Morales-Perez, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash and driving without a license.
Alcohol is suspected and additional charges are pending.
The victim's has been identified as 56-year-old Anthony Gibson.
