SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A motorcyclist died Saturday night in a crash in suburban West Palm Beach.
Witnesses told the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office that 42-year-old Kenneth Colas was traveling southbound on S. Military Trail at a high rate of speed and weaving in between other vehicles at 7:22 p.m.
A 36-year-old Lake Worth woman started to make a U-turn in a 2007 Toyota Matrix and had almost completed the turn when Colas struck her vehicle on the passenger side front fender.
After the impact, the motorcycle continued in a southwest direction onto the sidewalk where it struck a tree and shrubs, causing the driver to be ejected off of the motorcycle.
Colas landed in a grass area on the west side of the roadway and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
