WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Police identified a pedestrian hit and killed by a train Tuesday morning in downtown West Palm Beach.
According to Sgt. David Lefont, a northbound freight train struck a 26-year-old Morales Garcia, who was crossing the railroad tracks east to west in the 500 block of Clematis Street.
After being transported to a local hospital, Garcia died.
Lefont said they do not suspect foul play, and the pedestrian appeared to be intoxicated.
This case is under investigation.
Third Street, Banyan Boulevard, and Clematis Street were blocked for a few hours after the incident.
