A man charged with carjacking an 11-year-old boy in West Palm Beach last year accepted a plea deal in court Wednesday.
Last April, police said Robert Hawkins and Eliezer Diaz are accused of holding the little boy at gunpoint, and taking him out of the car.
The car was parked outside City Market on Broadway and the boy's parents were inside.
Police said the two men also threw the boy's puppy out of the vehicle before they took off.
Officers found the two a few hours later and took them into custody.
Robert Hawkins pleaded guilty to carjacking, robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
