A man detectives say is a serial rapist is standing trial for a litany of charges.

Just before 5 p.m., the jury began deliberations in the case against 30-year-old Baltazar Delgado Ros. About an hour later, they requested a copy of the victim’s testimony. The jury will listen to it starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow before resuming deliberations.

Delgado Ros remained still inside a Palm Beach County courtroom wearing headphones, as he listened through a translator to countless testimonies about the violent rape police say he committed.

This is the first of five rapes he will answer to.

Late this afternoon, both sides presented closing arguments about the rape in Palm Springs seven years ago.

“That man forced her down, held a blade to her throat and raped her while her baby was in he next room,” said the prosecutor, Justin Hoover.

Defense attorney Maurissa Jones, argued, “What we don't know, what we dote around, is the specifics of what happened and those open questions. How? Why?”

After two and a half years on the run, US Marshals arrested Delgado Ros in Guatemala in 2014 and brought him back here.

We watched a video recording in Spanish of detectives interrogating Delgado Ross. In the transcript, he confessed to the crime admitting that he even used a blade to cut rugs to attack his victim.

But the defense argued that there’s a lack of evidence in the case. “Two of the thing she never saw, his face and the weapon,” argued Jones.

Delgado Ross has pled not guilty to the crime.

He’s charged with sexual battery and armed robbery and faces a minimum of 25 years to life in prison.

Delgado Ross could face four more trials for the other rapes he’s accused of.
