WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Palm Beach County grand jury has indicted a West Palm Beach woman on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
Takeea Mattai, 23, was arrested Thursday by West Palm Beach police and booked into the main Palm Beach County jail.
According to the indictment, which was unsealed Thursday, Mattai killed a child in July by "inflicting and causing blunt force trauma to her head."
The child's identity was redacted from the true bill.
Mattai was being held without bond. Her arraignment was set for Jan. 7.
