Dog dies in West Palm Beach apartment fire

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A dog perished in an apartment fire in West Palm Beach today.

West Palm Beach Fire Rescue units responded to 1411 Brandywine Road where they found a three-story apartment building with a fire in an apartment on the second floor.

Firefighters entered the apartment and extinguished the fire, which was contained to one room.

A dog was rescued from the apartment. Firefighters attempted to revive the dog using CPR and oxygen, but were unsuccessful.

The apartment sustained smoke and water damage. West Palm Beach Fire Rescue says about 12 people are temporarily displaced until power is restored.
