A man was killed after losing control of his vehicle while driving on the Florida Turnpike in West Palm Beach Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at 12:22 p.m. on Florida Turnpike, north of Okeechobee Boulevard.
Officials say 51-year-old Mark Nelson of Boynton Beach was traveling southbound on the Turnpike when he suffered a medical condition and veered off the roadway.
The front right of the vehicle, a 2015 Audi Q5, collided with the cable barrier. The vehicle sideswiped the cable barrier and hit an ACME construction sign, where it came to a final stop.
Nelson was transported to Wellington Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
