PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.-- A reunion six months in the making took place Wednesday between a 21-year-old woman and the Trauma Hawk team that helped save her life.

Morgan Temple met the Palm Beach County crew that flew her to the hospital in January after a horse kicked her in the face and left her with life-threatening injuries.

Temple, who is from Canada, was working in Wellington caring for the horse when the freak accident happened.

She says she doesn't remember the moment it happened, but she and her family wanted to thank those who helped save her.

"It’s kind of a surreal experience, I’m very happy about what they do and I think it’s amazing they are courageous enough to go out and do this," Temple said.

"It’s great to meet her and great to see she’s doing well and I hope she’ll be back to riding horses and taking care of horses soon," said Health Care District of Palm Beach County EMS helicopter pilot Michael Sievers.

Morgan was back in town for follow-up surgery and will return for another surgery in December.

Her mom says "thank you" doesn't seem like enough for what these first responders did for her daughter
