One person was killed and another severely injured after a car crashed into a tree in Wellington Monday morning, according to Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened at 5 a.m. on Sunnydale Drive, in the gated Palm Beach Polo and Country Club neighborhood, said Teri Barbera.
Officials say the driver, 30-year-old Sophie Walker, lost control of the vehicle on a curve. She was pronounced dead on scene.
The passenger, 31-year-old Andres Rodriguez, was transported to Delray Medical Center in critical condition.
