Technology improving dental implants

Posted

Denise Cantore is all smiles for the first time in years. "I'm very confident, I can eat anything. they feel so natural." Denise had lost some of her teeth.

"With aging, my teeth were deteriorating a bit, and I've always had  relatively problem teeth", she said.

Now she's smiling and eating her favorite foods. She got a dental implant procedure that's relatively new in the U-S, but similar ones have been used in other parts of the world for several years.

Dr. Jay Ajmo with PGA Advanced Dentistry, says this advancement means more people are turning to dental implants instead of dentures or partials.

He said, "They end up looking 10 to 15 years older than they really are because of not only the loss of the teeth, but the loss of the jawbone. So with "Teeth Next Day" and dental implants we preserve the bone in their upper jaw and their lower jaw and give volume back to the face."

Here's how it works: When the patient comes in to see the doctor, the doctor will remove all of the bad teeth and replace them with the metal implants. Within 24 hours that patient will return and "Teeth Next Day" will be put in place.

"Once the implants have healed for three to four months, then we can attach permanent teeth." Unlike traditional methods. "The patients we have done this for they are just ecstatic, they love the way they look and they love the way they feel, " said Doctor Aimo.

Denise is one of them. "It  really improved my appearance a lot and not just my teeth but around my face, it has improved that as well. it's just a beautiful disappearance to me."
