Loxahatchee flooding: "Like a river in my yard"

"Like a river in my yard," said Damiana Leon, a Loxahatchee resident. She described the scene becoming all too familiar throughout the county.

Never ending rain means flooded yards.

"It's pretty bad it hasn't happened like this in a long time," said Leon. "It's flooded and it keeps getting higher and I mean you can't step out into the yard."

The wet roads made for a tough commute.

But in Boca Raton, there was a bit of irony. Flooding in front of a scuba store. Waterlogged South Florida proving fun for some.

"One of my employees actually took a dive flag and laid it out there in the middle of the road as it was flooding and it was floating down the road there," said Sean Meadows, owner of World Scuba.

But many worry about even more rainfall in the next 24 hours.

"It's only been one day and it's very flooded. Hopefully it will ease up overnight and won't get worse tomorrow, but we'll see," said Leon.
