PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A Loxahatchee man is under arrest, accused of opening fire on two men following a fight over parking.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the victims were parked in a 'no parking' area outside Prime Liquors, located at 5026 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, around 9:30 p.m. on Oct 2.
Investigators said 53-year-old Paul McClure pulled up in his GMC Denali and told one of the victims "you know you're not supposed to park there you [EXPLETIVE] idiot," the arrest report stated.
McClure also made several racial comments to the driver, PBSO said.
According to the arrest report, the victims drove away from the liquor store and McClure followed them.
When the vehicles got close to one another, the victims said McClure fired a round into their Dodge truck, striking the driver's side door. McClure then took off, his arrest report said.
One of the victims was "in fear for his life and 'shaking like a leaf.'"
PBSO said the victims got a look at McClure's license plate, and that's how detectives were able to track him down.
McClure was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of attempted first degree murder, discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to his arrest report, McClure has five prior felony convictions for charges like aggravated assault with a weapon and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
In court on Friday, a judge denied McClure bond and ordered him to not have contact with the victims, and also said he can't possess any weapons.
