A man who served as Village of Palm Springs Public Services Director has been arrested, according to the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office.

William F. Davis, Jr., is accused of unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.

A contractor hired by the village believed they could be paid faster if Davis was paid for his help, according to an investigation by the State Attorney’s Office.

Davis is alleged to have received at least $19,500 from Carlo and Luigi Basile since 2010, the investigation states.

The Basiles worked for AKA Services, Inc., to perform water and sewer services.

The State Attorney’s Office also says Davis received unlawful compensation from Aldo’s Construction, Inc., on one occasion.

His bond was set at $8,000.
