The local woman who claims Donald Trump groped her at a Mara-logo event in 2003 is still not doing any television interviews.
However, we were able to speak to the Palm Beach Post reporter who interviewed her.
Mindy McGillivray is now one of at least five women who claim the presidential hopeful touched them inappropriately.
“She said I was 23 at the time and I decided to stay quiet,” said Joe Capozzi who was the only reporter so far to interview Palm Springs resident Mindy McGillivray.
WPTV NewsChannel 5 and the Palm Beach Post are news partners.
“She clearly reached out to us as a result of what Mr. Trump said Sunday night," said Capozzi.
It was the moment in the presidential debate when Anderson Cooper pressed Donald Trump about those leaked 2005 recordings in which Trump can be heard making sexually aggressive comments about women.
“Have you ever done those things?” asked CNN anchor Anderson Cooper during the debate.
“No I have not,” responded Trump.
Trump’s denial, says Capozzi convinced McGilivray to tell her 13-year-old story.
“I heard she just leaped off the couch and yelled, ‘Liar, you’re a liar. This happened to me,’” said Capozzi.
Capozzi said McGillivray was working that night at an assistant to photographer Ken Davidoff. The two were at Mar-a-Largo for a Ray Charles concert.
McGillivray explained how at the end of the night she felt a grab or a nudge. At first thinking it could have been Davidoff’s camera bag, but it wasn’t.
“She turned in the direction of it, and the way she described it, she saw Mr. Trump there and he was like looking away,” said Capozzi.
While Davidoff didn’t actually see the alleged incident, he does remember it.
“[He said] I remember her pulling me aside as soon as it happened and telling me this,” said Capozzi.
Capozzi said he believes McGillivray came forward for other women and to set an example for her daughter.
The Palm Beach Post did get a brief response from the Trump campaign denying the accusations.
