The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is unveiling its new crime prevention app "Connect & Protect."
On Thursday Sheriff Ric Bradshaw will hold a news conference Thursday to inform the public about its benefits.
The free app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
It has several features including news alerts specific to your area and a crime reporting tool.
The "See Something, Say Something" feature allows people to report crimes by providing a description of the crime and you can do it anonymously.
"Let's face it folks, our best source of information is the public," Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said. "When we go to citizen groups, they say yea we wanted to let somebody know about it, but we didn't know how, now they know how."
