Palm Beach County beaches are back open after nearly a week.
"It's like hitting the unlucky lottery," said Matt Demarco of New Jersey. "At least we've been able to experience some of the fun on the beach."
He was wondering when or if with new reports of red tide.
"It was Wednesday originally. Now it's today they were going to open them," said Demarco.
County leaders made decisions with an abundance of caution this week. Red tide has only made its way to Palm Beach County eight times.
"Very rare situation for the east coast so it's important that we be focused on getting good information," said Director of Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management Deborah Drum.
She says the county wanted to make sure conditions improved and proper signage was in place.
The county will continue to monitor and take samples.
