It is a rainy start to the South Florida Fair.
Gates opened at 11:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds.
The fair will be open rain or shine. Anyone who purchased an advance ticket can come today and re-use the ticket for another day.
There is still a lot to do even with the rainy weather. This year's fair boasts a "Palm Beach" theme highlighting everything the area has to offer.
New this year is a state-of-the-art movie center featuring a six minute IMAX-style film that shows all the different aspects of the Palm Beaches. It is narrated by actor Ray Liotta.
Kids can learn how to sculpt a sand castle for free. Sculptors from Team Sandtastic, who sculpted Sandy the Tree in West Palm Beach, will be giving free lessons.
There are also numerous concessions, vendors, 4-H agriculture and art exhibits.
