PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Tourism leaders are taking an artful approach to marketing the Palm Beaches.

At Art Hive Magazine's headquarters in West Palm Beach, you could say business is buzzing.

"There are two local artist that we are highlighting," said Angela Youngk.

Youngk co-created the regional publication more than eight years ago, hoping to highlight what South Florida has to offer.

"From arts, culture, business, and technology," said Youngk.

Now the magazine is taking its message from text to television.

"It’s an adventure we want you to travel along with us to find, not only amazing people, but the amazing places and everything that Palm Beach County has to offer," said Youngk.

It’s called 'Art Adventures of the Palm Beaches,' a project co-sponsored by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council and the Film Commission.

Film Commissioner Chuck Elderd said the goal of the show is to market the county as a destination for the arts.

"We all sat together and said if we co produce this, we’ll see if we get distribution on it and then we’ll put it on the Palm Beaches TV and we are going to run with it," said Elderd.

Elderd said the Cultural Council and the Film Commission are working together to co-sponsor the six episode series, paying $30,000 each from the marketing budget to JAG Production Group to produce the series.

It's a move the Cultural Council is hoping will inspire tourists to go beyond the beaches.

"We certainly want to increase tourism and participation in our cultural venues," said David Lawrence with the Cultural Council. "Increase attendance at events and highlight everything great that’s going on in arts and culture in Palm Beach County."
